I keep mentally climbing an entire staircase instead of just actually taking the next step.
(And yes… I realized this while literally painting my staircase 😅) I’ve spent so much time overwhelmed by everything in this house that still isn’t finished that I forgot little progress is still progress!
Progress was always meant to happen one step at a time🫶🏻

This morning I slipped my hand into my pink dish g

This morning I slipped my hand into my pink dish glove to wash the dishes and found….

a lollipop.

Perfectly lodged where my ring finger should go.

And because I am a mother, I know this was no accident. 😂 One of my children intentionally shoved a lollipop into my dish glove, which hangs over the front of the sink waiting faithfully for its next assignment.

I stood there laughing at the absurdity of it, holding my work glove turned inside out to investigate, when I suddenly remembered an illustration I had heard before.

A glove by itself can do nothing.

It cannot wash dishes.
It cannot wipe counters.
It cannot comfort a crying child or do meaningful work.

But once a hand fills it, suddenly the glove appears capable.

The glove is us.

The hand is God.

And what struck me this morning wasn’t simply that the glove needed a hand.

It was that something hidden inside prevented the hand from entering fully.

And isn’t that just us sometimes?

The little things we tuck away like:
Sticky compromises or
the things we convince ourselves are harmless because they seem small and hidden.

And for the sake of honesty? Removing the lollipop wasn’t effortless.

It had already been enjoyed.

A few licks had made it sticky, and it clung stubbornly inside the glove. I actually had to work at pulling it free. and clean the sticky residue that it left behind.

That felt like a metaphor all its own.

Because the sticky things in our lives rarely come loose easily.

But oh, making room for the hand of God in our lives is always worth it.🥹💛

Every year when strawberry season rolls around, I find myself reaching for my overalls and heading to a local field to pick fresh strawberries. There is nothing quite like a strawberry picked fresh from the field, warmed by the summer sun. Grocery store strawberries simply cannot compare.
This year felt especially sweet because for the first time, I got to pick strawberries alongside a princess!😂

I stood in the middle of fireworks, music, laughte

I stood in the middle of fireworks, music, laughter, sweet tired children asleep on shoulders, and thousands upon thousands of people chasing a little bit of wonder and all I could think was how deeply my heart is longing for something eternal.
I understand why we chase wonder. I do too. But even the happiest place on earth still leaves me longing for Heaven.

I had the joy of creating this bouquet, but seeing

I had the joy of creating this bouquet, but seeing it in her hands in her day felt entirely new all over again. The colors and textures, the way everything came together…it brought me so much unexpected joy when she sent these photos. So thankful she trusted me with such a meaningful piece of her day 🥹💐

What made it even more meaningful is that these blooms were gathered from local flower farmers. There’s just something about knowing where they came from and who grew them that makes them feel even more special.🥰

I’ve always loved flowers.
Even long before my younger years working in a flower shop.

I think my love for flowers began in my childhood yard, picking wild dandelions.

My sister and I would spend the day picking what we were sure were sunflowers, filling up a five-gallon bucket for my mom, whose favorite flower was the sunflower. She never corrected us. She never told us they were just dandelions. She always accepted our gift with a smile and much gratitude like it was the most beautiful bouquet she’d ever seen.

I think that taught me something about love before I even knew it. That beauty is often found in intention and that gratitude can turn weeds into treasures.

Maybe that’s why dandelions have always felt so special to me. It’s why there’s dandelion wallpaper in my kitchen now, a little nod to my mother’s sunflower kitchen and those five-gallon buckets of dandelion “sunflowers”. 🌻

And maybe that’s why flowers still feel like more than flowers to me. They feel like memory, love, gratitude, and the Gospel all at once!

I don’t always share the work of my hands, but I truly love designing for weddings and celebrations like this.

I know flowers can feel fleeting to some… that because they fade so quickly, they aren’t worth it. But I’ve never seen them that way.

To me, they’ve always been a reminder that even in a fallen world, God still chooses to create beauty.
That something can be here for a moment… and still be full of purpose and meaning.
And even more than that, that the ache we feel when they fade is only a whisper of what’s to come…
a longing for a place where beauty doesn’t wither and where joy is made complete.💛#weddingflowers

Trust that even in the valley He is tending, pruning, watering, and growing something beautiful.
The valley is not forgotten ground. It is where roots grow deepest and faith learns to bloom.

Trust the Gardener. He’s still holding the watering can. 💛
