sowing and growing in grace

About

Hi friend!

My name is Kortney (with a K & no U) Sue! I am a disciple of Jesus, wife to Tyler, stay at home mother to Jefferson (2) & Adlee (1), & homemaker!

This blog is a garden in which I sow spiritual seeds & grow in grace every day!

Discipleship isn’t a walk in the park.

Motherhood isn’t a spa day.

Homemaking isn’t a slice of cherry pie.

Social media will paint a beautiful perfect picture of all the above but what about when reality is anything but!?

Welp! You are NOT alone!

It’s time to have REAL honest conversations about REAL life. Stop wishing your life looked like your Pinterest boards (speaking mostly to myself lol) when 80% of what is on Pinterest is from a staged photo shoot.

If you are left feeling empty after scrolling mindlessly for hours on social media, then welcome to the club!

After all, we are in this together! I am walking alongside you when it comes to navigating daily life as a disciple, wife, mother, & homemaker.

My hope and prayer is that you leave this space feeling more fulfilled and encouraged.

Living life is about so much more than chasing our own dreams. Its about giving up those dreams daily and laying them at Jesus’ feet to pursue all that he desires for our life.

Our faith shouldn’t be separate from our day-to-day life. It should coincide with everything we think, say, and do.

Everything has purpose and value when we allow God to come into these daily spaces that we regularly exclude him from.  We get so distracted by the mundane and start believing false perceptions, thinking, “this has nothing to do with God” or begin to get caught up in our selfish worldliness that we miss out on all he has in store for us each and every day.

As a stay-at-home mom who never goes anywhere it is easy for me to start believing the lies from the enemy who tells me that I have no role to play in expanding the kingdom of God, that God can’t meet me where I’m at, or that the time for God to use me will someday come but not today.

LIES!

Every day is an opportunity to be used by God!

Lord, open my eyes & heart today & everyday so that I don’t miss out on what You desire to do through me. I know I am here at this moment in time for a reason & purpose. The noise of this world distracts me from You. Quiet the noise so that I may hear only You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
