Hi friend!
My name is Kortney (with a K & no U) Sue! I am a disciple of Jesus, wife to Tyler, stay at home mother to Jefferson (4) & Adlee (3), & homemaker!
This blog is a garden in which I sow spiritual seeds & grow in grace every day!
Discipleship isn’t a walk in the park.
Motherhood isn’t a spa day.
Homemaking isn’t a slice of cherry pie.
Social media will paint a beautiful perfect picture of all the above but sometimes reality is anything but!
We live in a time where we constantly see everyone’s life highlights in an instant on social media & wish life looked like a perfect Pinterest board, when most of what is on Pinterest is from a staged photo shoot & isn’t even real.
If you are left feeling empty after scrolling mindlessly for hours on social media, then you are not alone.
We are all walking this same fallen world together! We all struggle, hurt, question, & worry (to name a few). My hope though, is to remind you of God’s Truth for protection against the enemies “half-truth trap” that aims to rob us of our peace in Jesus.
My hope and prayer are that you leave this space feeling more fulfilled & encouraged in the only way we ever truly can be in this fallen world – by being reconciled to God through belief in Jesus.
Living life is about so much more than chasing our own dreams. It’s about giving up those dreams daily and laying them at Jesus’ feet to pursue all that he desires for our life.
Our faith shouldn’t be separate from our day-to-day life. It should coincide with everything we think, say, and do.
Everything has purpose & value when we allow God to come into these daily spaces that we regularly exclude Him from. We get so distracted by the mundane & start believing false perceptions, thinking, “this has nothing to do with God” or get caught up in our selfishness that we miss out on all He has in store for us each & every day.
As a stay-at-home mom, who never goes anywhere, it is easy for me to start believing the lies from the enemy who tells me that I have no role to play in expanding the kingdom of God, that God can’t meet me where I’m at, or that the time for God to use me will someday come but not today.
LIES!
Every day is an opportunity to be used by God!
Lord, open our eyes & hearts today & everyday so that we don’t miss out on what You desire to do through us. I know we are here at this moment in time for a reason & purpose. The noise of this world distracts us from You. Quiet the noise so that we may hear only You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
This is the day that the Lord has made;
Psalms 118:24
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
in love,
kortney sue
