Fear. Anxiety. Grief. Sorrow. Pain. Sickness. No

Fear. Anxiety. Grief. Sorrow. Pain. Sickness.

None of us will escape hardship here in this fallen world. No one is exempt from hard days.

Yesterday, i needed help. i needed people to remind me of what was true when my mind and heart were struggling to hold onto it.

If i’m honest, i was embarrassed to ask. i felt weak. i felt like I should have been able to handle it on my own because i have the Spirit of God in me!?

Then i thought about Jesus carrying His cross.

Simon of Cyrene, a passerby, was called to help carry it.

The Son of God, needed help.

Jesus, in His humanity, experienced exhaustion, anguish, and suffering. He needed help not because He lacked spiritual strength, but because He had truly taken on human weakness.

For a long time, the thought of Jesus needing help carrying His cross felt uncomfortable to me. i wanted Him to be Superman! untouched by pain, unaffected by exhaustion, unbothered by human weakness!
But He wasn’t pretending to be human. He WAS human.
He felt the weight, the sorrow, the suffering.
And that doesn’t make Him seem less glorious to me. It makes Him more. Because the God who could have remained distant chose to step into our weakness and carry it Himself.

His humility doesn’t diminish His power….It reveals it. Philippians says He “emptied himself” and took the form of a servant. The King of Kings chose weakness not because He lacked power, but because of love🥹

And that’s why needing help yesterday wasn’t a failure. The Savior i believe in isn’t distant from human frailty. He understands it completely.

Needing help is not a sign of weakness, but a reminder that we were never meant to carry every burden alone.

i am grateful for my family and friends who helped carry part of mine yesterday.

If you’re carrying something heavy today, please don’t be afraid to reach out.

Sometimes God’s kindness looks like the people He places beside us to help carry the weight.

While we were driving yesterday, my kids and I started having one of those sweet little conversations that makes you wish you could freeze time. So I quietly pressed record on my phone… just so I could keep it forever.

Maybe one day they’ll listen back to it too 🥹

“Yeah… I’m not ready for that though.” 🥺

Honestly, I felt that too.

I’m thankful Jesus is gentle with us while He grows us. Even when we don’t feel ready.
