Sometimes posting feels like throwing a message in

Sometimes posting feels like throwing a message in a bottle out into the vast sea. Maybe someone will find it, maybe they won’t. Maybe the bottle will get lost, eaten, or destroyed and so what is the point…sounds a little dramatic..I know… but the point is, that’s why I often don’t bother. Sometimes though, I just can’t shake something that is on my heart, so I throw the bottle and say a prayer that it would find its way into someone’s heart.

I found this little card with Revelation 3:20 on it while unpacking boxes and stuck it on our fridge next to my son’s lovely portrait of me. I couldn't let the day end without sharing it (I don't really know why).

Social media platforms change but the human heart doesn’t.

People are still lonely, still searching, still sometimes up late with a lump in their throat, searching for someone to articulate what they can’t. And sometimes God uses a single message in a bottle.

Think of the fishes and loaves! The boy didn’t multiply it to feed the crowd, he just handed over what he had!

So even though it feels like sometimes we’re just throwing words into a void when we send a simple text to a friend or when we post a picture of a verse we found unpacking boxes, we are actually placing our few fishes and loaves into Jesus’ hands. And He does so very much with our little offerings🥹

I found this wooden bench at a thrift shop, and it made me smile.
The little rose tiles and tiny mirror in the center felt so curious and thoughtful.
It already feels at home here, tucked beneath our staircase at the entry of our curious cottage.

I’m not trained in design.

I don’t really know any official design rules.

But I do know what feels warm and welcoming in our home because i learned from some of the warmest ones. 🥹

And I wonder if what we’re really craving isn’t design at all, but evidence that someone has tended a space. And that someone cared enough to create something for it.💛

Just a little snippet of some of my sewing work fr

Just a little snippet of some of my sewing work from this past week. Looking at this picture i still see so much work to be done.. dirty floors, unfinished vanity, dirty mirrors, dirty sink (angled the camera to avoid capturing the inside), blue tape on tile where our shower door still hasn’t been installed, but I also see progress! I see my intentional and tedious work. Great things take time! And i am only one person, after all 😅 Giving myself grace and a pat on the back! Homemaking is hard work! And it is good work ☺️
