No true enough words exist in this fallen world to express what my papaw means to me & my family. & There are no perfect enough words to describe the upright man of God He is. A true indication would be to just look at his family. A testimony of who he is & what he stands for.
Jesus says: You will know a tree by its fruit. A good tree bears good fruit.
& it is obvious to see that papaw was indeed a good tree.
My papaw is a true example of Jesus Christ.
He sows seeds, is a carpenter, & a fisherman (among many other things) both literally & spiritually, who multiplied meals for his family, built strong houses for us to take refuge in, & raised us up as disciples & has led us toward THE truth all his days just as Jesus modeled during his ministry on earth & calls us all to model.
Jesus says:
everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.””
Matthew 7:24-27
My papaw built his house, his family, on THE rock. & he spent his life here in this fallen world helping others build their houses on the rock both literally & spiritually.
Papaw modeled the love of Jesus in all he said & did. & that, to me, is the most admirable, most selfless, most noble & humble thing we can do in our short time here in this fallen world.
Because of my earthly father & grandfather’s leadership in this life. I can rest in peace & assurance that we will all be together forever.
& I know the real reason you and dad had to go first is so you could build all of our forever homes & have them ready for us to move into.
I’ll see you guys soon 💛
