sowing and growing in grace

Gold Medal Glenwood

I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!!! SHE IS HERE!!!!

We finally have our antique stove that I wrote about here.

She is absolutely beautiful & everything we had hoped! She was made new in 1926 & has served generations of families that passed her down. This stove has now been rescued & given new life, to continue to serve. She has so much more life to live & give. She isn’t a brand-new modern stove, she has some stories to tell (chips & cracks in the original porcelain), & I love that about her. They touched up some cosmetic chips here and there, but I like that I can still spot them out of her original porcelain. I like to wonder and dream about how she got each chip. Was a busy momma cooking with a baby on her hip & dropped a pot as her toddler pulled at her apron? how often was she moved to a new kitchen? I’m sure she has a few dings from each journey. How many people/homes has she served? Oh, if this stove could talk…🥹

This stove has stories to tell & so do I🥰. I think we will enjoy each other’s company just fine as we make new memories & stories to tell together💛

Now…what to name her? I have made up a list of a few names I like but am still pondering.

Potential Stove Names

Henrietta (Etta) – first name that came to mind when I saw her.

Essie – rhymes with messy (cooking gets messy🤣)

Goldie – short for Gold Medal Glenwood

Queenie – the Queen of the kitchen

If you have a name vote or a name idea, please leave a comment on this post or message me!

I can’t wait to get her all set up in her little kitchen nook we have planned for her. Hopefully we will have her in & cookin’ by her 100th birthday 🥹🥰🎉oh what a celebration that will be!
